A Lay-by agreement allows you to purchase a product and pay for it in instalments before taking it home. Please read these terms carefully before entering into an agreement with Sona Solar Zimbabwe.

Our 3-Step Lay-by Process

Securing your solar equipment has never been easier. Follow these three simple steps to lock in your products.

01. Make a Down Payment

To officially initiate a Lay-by agreement and reserve your stock, an initial down payment of 30% of the total purchase price is required.

02. Pay in Instalments

Complete the remaining payment in full within your chosen flexible period (30, 60, or 90 days). All payments made during this period are 100% interest-free.

03. Receive Your Goods

Once the full price has been successfully paid and cleared, you can take your items home immediately. Professional installation and delivery will be scheduled accordingly.

Cancellation Fee

If you choose to cancel your Lay-by agreement at any point, a strict termination fee equating to 15% of the total purchase price will be deducted from your final refund.

Detailed Terms and Conditions

1. Lay-by Agreement & Payments

A lay-by agreement enables you to purchase a product and pay for it in two or three instalments before taking it home. You will not receive the goods until the full price has been paid. Payments are interest-free.

We accept various payment options including Mukuru, EcoCash, Western Union, WorldRemit, Mama Money, MojoMula Money, Senditoo and other money sending options to Zimbabwe for Diaspora customers. For all payment options, the payment is considered complete only after the money has been collected from the respective agents.

2. Cancellation and Refunds

You have the right to cancel the lay-by agreement at any time before receiving the goods. If you cancel the lay-by or fail to make full payment within the agreed period, the item will be returned to our inventory for resale.

We will refund your deposit and all other payments made, except for a termination fee of 15% of the total item purchase amount.
If your payments do not cover the termination fee, you will be responsible for paying the outstanding fee amount.
If the cancellation occurs within the last 7 days of the Lay-by period, an additional 5% surcharge may be deducted.
Changing items during the lay-by payment period will be treated as a cancellation, and the 15% fee will apply. The amount paid for a cancelled lay-by will not be transferred to a new lay-by.

3. Default on Payment

If you fail to make any scheduled payments within the agreed-upon Lay-by period, Sona Solar Zimbabwe reserves the right to cancel the agreement. In the event of cancellation due to default, all payments made up to that point will be forfeited, and the solar system and accessories will not be installed. Sona Solar Zimbabwe reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover any outstanding debts in case of default.

4. Installation, Warranty & Liability

Installation and Delivery: The solar system and accessories will be installed and delivered after the full payment has been received and cleared. Any additional installation costs or modifications required will be borne by the customer.
Warranty: All Sona Solar products come with a manufacturer's warranty. Warranty claims will be subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions.
Limitation of Liability: Sona Solar Zimbabwe shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by the use of the solar system or accessories purchased under this agreement. The customer agrees to use the products responsibly and in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

5. Governing Law

This Lay-by agreement and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.

By entering into this Lay-by agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions. It is recommended that you retain a copy of this agreement for your records.
