At Sona Solar Zimbabwe, our warranty terms are designed to provide assurance and protection for your solar investment.
All our products are backed by comprehensive warranty coverage, ensuring absolute peace of mind for our valued customers. By strictly adhering to these warranty terms, you can safeguard your investment and enjoy the benefits of our reliable solar products for years to come.
Installation Requirements & Proof
To guarantee the safety and longevity of your solar equipment, strict installation and documentation standards must be met.
Authorized, Accredited Installers
Only authorized, accredited installers are permitted to carry out installations of Sona Solar Zimbabwe products. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in the immediate voiding of your warranty. We are here to assist you in finding reliable and qualified installers.
Installation Photos
Visual documentation is critical. Clear photographs of the completed installation (showing the inverter, batteries, wiring, and DB board) must be provided to validate the environmental and structural integrity of the setup.
Proof of Qualified Installer
In order to process warranty claims, it is essential to provide documentation proving the use of a qualified installer (e.g., Certificate of Compliance). Any warranty claim submitted without these required documents may be rejected, rendering the claim null and void.
Exclusions from Warranty Coverage
The Sona Solar Zimbabwe warranty does not cover damages resulting from the following internal, environmental, or external factors:
Power Surges & Grid Fluctuations
Damage caused by volatile electrical grids, including high-voltage power surges, under-voltage drops, and over-voltage spikes that bypass or exceed the system's external protections.
Lightning Strikes & Extreme Weather
Catastrophic damage directly resulting from lightning strikes, electrical storms, or severe weather damage impacting the property's circuitry.
Moisture, Water & Corrosion
Failures stemming from liquid exposure, including direct water damage, condensation buildup, sea spray, and long-term coastal corrosion.
Dust, Sand & Solid Particles
Accumulation of heavy dust, sand, or other solid particles inside the electrical components, which can cause internal short-circuiting or block cooling fans.
Excessive Heat & Blocked Ventilation
Damage from extreme heat exposure, installing units in unventilated areas, or system overheating caused by exceptionally dirty and unmaintained cooling filters.
Pest & Insect Infestations
Internal component failures and short circuits caused by insects, lizards, rodents, or other pests infiltrating the inverter housing or battery terminals.
System Overloading
Exceeding the maximum power rating, current, or voltage parameters for the input solar circuit, DC battery input, AC input, or AC output limits.
Negligence & Improper Use
Negligence by the installer or homeowner, including incorrect installation, inadequate protection device rating, and physical tampering (such as broken factory warranty seals).
Warranty Void Reasons
To protect the sophisticated electronics inside your inverter and battery, mandatory safety protocols must be followed. The warranty will be entirely void if the unit is found to be:
Missing AC Surge Protection
Not equipped with a minimal 40kA surge protection unit correctly installed for both live and neutral wires from the AC incoming supply.
Missing DC Surge Protection
Not protected with a minimal 40kA surge protection unit safely guarding both positive and negative wires from the DC (solar panel) incoming supply.
Incorrect or Missing Breakers
Not safeguarded by the calculated and required 2-pole breakers for the input and output of the inverter, or lacking a rated Battery Breaker within calculated PSCC ratings.
No Changeover Switch
Operating a hybrid or off-grid inverter without the mandatory installation of a manual or automatic changeover switch to isolate the unit from the grid during maintenance.
Tampering & Physical Damage
Not installed as per the manufacturer's specifications, exhibiting visible physical damage, or showing evidence of unauthorized tampering or attempts to open the internal chassis.
Claims & Final Provisions
In the unlikely event that you encounter any issues covered by our warranty terms, please contact our customer support team immediately. We are dedicated to addressing your concerns and ensuring that any valid warranty claims are resolved efficiently.
Ensure you have your original invoice, compliance certificates, and installation photos ready when you initiate your claim.
While our warranty terms are comprehensive, certain overarching exclusions may apply. These specific exclusions are outlined in detail within the printed warranty documentation provided to you at the time of system installation.
