At Sona Solar Zimbabwe, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not happy with a product, you can return it to us within the guidelines outlined below. 

This policy applies to all products purchased from Sona Solar Zimbabwe and forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

Preparing Your Return

To ensure a smooth and swift return process, please follow these steps:
  1. Pack your products securely: Use appropriate packaging materials to protect them during transit.
  2. Clearly mark your return: Write your return reference number prominently on the outside of the package. This number will be provided upon initiating your return request.
  3. Include all accessories: Make sure to return all accessories and parts that came with the originally purchased product.
  4. Attach a copy of your invoice: For faster processing, include a copy of your invoice with the returned product(s).

Failure to adhere to any of these requirements may delay the processing of your return or result in its rejection.

Defective Products

We strive to deliver high-quality, functional products. However, if you receive a defective item, here's what you need to know:
  • What is a defect? A defect is a significant imperfection in the product's manufacturing or a characteristic that makes it less suitable for its intended purpose than would be reasonably expected. 

Please refer to our FAQs for specific examples.

The following are NOT considered defects and will not qualify for a return:
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by negligence, user abuse, or incorrect usage
  • Damage from electrical surges or sea air corrosion
  • Damage resulting from inadequate product care
  • Damage arising from unauthorized product modifications
  • Situations where product specifications, accurately described on our website and generally fit for purpose, don't meet your specific needs
  • Signs of handling and/or repackaging on unboxed deals or used products

Standard Warranty

If you receive a defective or poor-quality product (excluding products with a direct warranty discussed below), notify us within 6 months of delivery or collection. You can initiate a return by logging a request on our WhatsApp number. We will arrange product collection and, upon inspection and return validation, offer you the choice of:
  • Repair/Replacement: If possible and subject to stock availability, we can repair the product or replace it with the same model.

Please note: If a repair or replacement takes longer than 21 days, we will contact you to discuss a credit or refund option. Unfortunately, returns cannot be facilitated outside the 6-month standard warranty period unless covered by an extended supplier warranty.

Extended Supplier Warranty

Some products may have an extended supplier warranty exceeding the standard 6 months. If a product covered by an extended warranty becomes defective after the 6-month period, notify us as soon as possible but within the extended warranty timeframe.

Charges and Refunds

If you return a defective product but fail to return all included accessories and parts, Sona Solar Zimbabwe reserves the right to (subject to applicable law):
  • Refuse the return.
  • Replace only the returned item.
  • Deduct the estimated value of missing accessories/parts from your credit or refund amount.

In the event of a non-compliant return (failing to adhere to this policy), you may be liable for the costs associated with product collection and return shipping.

Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee will be applied to all returned products, except for those deemed defective under warranty. This fee covers the cost of processing and restocking the returned item.
