Understanding your warranty is essential to protecting your solar investment. As an official Esener distributor, Sona Solar Zimbabwe provides a clear overview of the Esener LiFePO4 Battery Warranty terms and conditions to help you get the best long-term performance and support for your system.
Product Warranty Details
Esener batteries are designed for a 15-year life. The warranty covers performance for a minimum period or a set number of cycles, whichever comes first.
- Standard Batteries (51.2V 100Ah/200Ah): 5 years or 3,500 cycles.
- Multifunctional Batteries (1.28kWh, 2.56kWh, 4.8kWh): 5 years or 3,500 cycles for battery cells and the main BMS.
- Integrated BMS Module: Standard 3-year warranty.
Note: The built-in 300W inverter and DC outputs on multifunctional batteries are excluded from this warranty.
A battery is considered satisfactory if it maintains at least 40% of its original capacity throughout the warranty period. The battery's State of Health (SOH) will be determined through BMS data.
After the standard warranty expires, all Esener Lithium Batteries are covered by a 10-year Service Guarantee. This means:
- Customers are still eligible for after-sales service from Esener.
- Labor costs for repairs or maintenance will be waived.
- Customers will only be charged for the cost of any required replacement parts.
Warranty Preconditions
To ensure your warranty remains valid, you must adhere to the following:
- Professional Installation: Installation must be done by qualified personnel from an authorized service partner like Sona Solar Zimbabwe. Proof of qualification may be requested.
- Product Registration: The product must be registered within 1 week of installation.
- Correct Operation: The battery must be operated according to the provided user manuals and datasheets.
- 80% DoD Limit: Exceeding an 80% depth of discharge voids warranty coverage. A standard cycle is defined as a discharge up to 80% followed by a full recharge.
- Prompt Reporting: Any system fault or warning must be reported to your authorized partner within 1 week.
Warranty claims may be rejected for any of the following reasons:
- The warranty period has expired.
- Damage from misuse, abuse, unauthorized alterations, or transport.
- Use of unauthorized wiring or incompatible devices.
- Installation or maintenance performed by unauthorized personnel.
- Tampered or missing serial numbers.
- Damage from environmental stress (e.g., lightning, power surges).
- Fault reports delayed beyond 2 weeks.
How to Claim Your Warranty

- Contact Sona Solar Zimbabwe: Report the issue to us immediately.
- Arrange Shipment: The customer is responsible for arranging transport of the product to an ESENER service center in Harare.
- Assessment: The service center will assess the claim and may request additional information.
- Resolution: If validated, Esener will repair or replace the product at its discretion. Replaced parts become the property of Esener.
- Response Time: Esener or the Service Provider will respond within 10 working days of a service request.
